Our Product: Ingots & Wafers

Stellar PV produces high-quality silicon ingots and wafers that meet the stringent demands of the global solar cell market.

Utilising advanced mono-crystalline technologies, each Stellar PV ingot and wafer is crafted with precision, delivering exceptional purity, uniformity, and performance.

Our products are the building blocks of high-efficiency solar cells, enabling superior energy conversion and reliability for solar panel manufacturers worldwide.

We Produce World-Class Silicon Ingots & Wafers for Solar Panels

At our Australian facility, we will produce premium silicon ingots and wafers tailored for the global solar cell market.

Our manufacturing process incorporates the renowned Czochralski (CZ) method, an advanced technique for growing mono-crystalline silicon ingots that ensure superior crystal uniformity and purity, both of which are essential for building high-efficiency solar cells.

Our cutting-edge technology ensures minimal material wastage, while maintaining consistent thickness and flatness across all wafers.

The result is a reliable, high-quality product with consistent quality, minimal defects, and optimal thickness that meets the exacting standards of the efficiency-focused global solar cell market.

By establishing our production capability in Australia, we are bridging the gap in the solar value chain while supporting global manufacturers with reliable, high-performance components that enable them to meet the growing demand for clean energy solutions.

Stellar PV makes wafers for solar panel manufacturers

Stellar PV’s solar wafer manufacturing facility will play a pivotal role in the evolving Australia solar panel ecosystem, since building high quality solar panels requires a complex and precise value chain — as shown below.

Here’s how we create the wafers our customers need to build industry-leading solar panelS

To create the ingots needed to develop our wafers, we source semiconductor-grade silicon which is the purest form of silicon. It’s produced in a Siemens process and is integral to optimising the energy conversion efficiency of solar panels.

Next, we melt the polysilicon and pull it into cylindrical, rectangular mono-crystalline ingots, customised for maximum solar panel efficiency.

To create our wafers, we slice the ingots into thin wafers, typically 110 to 140 microns thick.

Our process is extremely precise so as to optimise the materials used as well as the electrical performance of the final product.

The end result is Stellar PV’s best-in-class solar wafers, which are sold to our customers who use them to build high quality solar cells, the functional units that convert sunlight into electricity.

In turn, our customers use our solar wafers to form solar cells by doping the wafers with materials to form a p-n junction, applying anti-reflective coatings and adding electrical contacts.

Each solar cell is tested to ensure high performance and durability before they are assembled into solar panels. During this process, the solar cells are connected in series and encapsulated in protective materials and glass with aluminium frames to form solar panels.
