Stellar PV is proud to announce a new partnership with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) in raising capital on its journey to create a cutting-edge Australian-based solar manufacturing facility – a landmark step in bringing solar manufacturing back to Australia.
The new facility would produce high-purity mono-crystalline silicon ingots and wafers – vital components in the global production of solar panels. Demand is surging for the components as the world accelerates its clean energy transition.
We’re excited to be bringing solar manufacturing back to Australia where it all began,” said Stellar PV Principal Ted Szpitalak. “Australia has the mineral resources so it makes sense to process them here rather than sending them offshore.”
Szpitalak’s credentials are world-class. As a founding member of Professor Martin Green’s pioneering team in the 1980s, he helped commercialise the solar cell technology that changed the world.
Today, Szpitalak is joined by a team of leading scientists and engineers at Stellar PV who continue to evolve the technology.
